Tiger-maple furniture is made from a type of hardwood named for its curly or wavy pattern that resembles tiger stripes. Also known as curly or flamed maple, it is not a specific species of maple but a description of the grain of the wood.

The use of tiger maple in furniture was popular in the American colonies of the 18th century. By using strongly figured maple, furniture makers added value to the pieces. Typical tiger-maple furniture includes chests, bureaus, cabinets, Windsor chairs and settees, and tables. Tiger maple supply is small, has sporadic availability and, as a result, is not used by the mainstream furniture industry as of 2014.
