How do you till a garden?
By Forinfos - 09/02/2025 - 0 comments
Till a garden by spreading necessary soil amendments, running a garden tiller over the earth and removing unwanted debris. Tilling should be done when the earth is moist, but not muddy.
- Spread soil amendments on the garden
Spread compost, lime, peat or other soil amendments over the garden before tilling.
- Till and clean the garden
Run the tiller over the entire garden once. Go through and remove any large rocks and root clumps.
- Till a second time
Run the tiller over the entire garden at least once more, ensuring that all soil is turned over. Amendments should be evenly distributed to about a foot deep.
