The time of the year recommended for crab fishing is between October and December. Larger crabs can be harvested during this time of the year. In general, the fall season is quite productive for crab fishing.
Crab fishing can be done during any time of the year, although crabs that are harvested in September tend to be meatier than those caught during other times of the year. The quantity of crabs caught increases in March and April as the water temperature rises to around 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Fewer crabs are caught in the days after heavy rains. Crabs are best caught during the early morning or late afternoon periods or during slack tides at high or low tides.
