What times do Muslims eat during Ramadan?

During Ramadan, Muslims fast during daylight hours. The fasting begins when the sun rises, and it ends when the sun sets. Many Muslims use time calculators to ensure they begin fasting at the proper time for their time zone.
During the fast, Muslims do not eat, drink, smoke or engage in sexual intercourse. They use the time to focus on reading the Qu'ran and engaging in charity work. They also refrain from gossiping and fighting during this time.
The meal after sunset is called Iftar, meaning breakfast, and another meal, called Sahur, is eaten right before dawn. The fasting continues for all of the ninth Islamic calendar month.
