By Forinfos - 18/04/2025 - 0 comments
Tingling in the hands can be a sign of serious illness, according to WebMD. Otherwise known as peripheral neuropathy, tingling in the hands can be due to injury, infection, nerve damage, systemic disease and vitamin deficiencies.
Peripheral neuropathy is caused by damage to the nerves, notes WebMD. Often seen in diabetics, it can also be a sign of other systemic diseases that cause damage to the nervous system, such as kidney disease, liver disease, cancers, and tumors. Vitamin deficiency, exposure to toxic chemicals and medications, and alcoholism can lead to peripheral neuropathy. Less serious yet potentially painful causes include carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve palsy.
