What are some tips for reading the camshaft part number?

To read the camshaft part number, first identify the vehicle model. This is often provided in the vehicle identification plate. Take the vehicle model's prefix, as this is often part of the camshaft part number. For instance, the number of a camshaft on a Toyota AE110 would be CS AE110.
Locate the profile or grind number on your camshaft. The profile number is often followed by numbers with degrees. Add the profile number next to the model prefix. Identify the exhaust number and add it to the end of the profile number. Depending on your vehicle's make and model, you may also need to include the exhaust grind number, which is often imprinted on the car's exhaust inlet.
