What tools help you unlock your car if you lost your keys?

Automotive lock picks, locksmith wedges and Slim Jims or other long reach tools help unlock a car if keys are lost. Professional lock picks release the lock mechanism on most makes of cars. They are often paired with an automotive torsion wrench to increase tension while the lock is picked.

Wedges are used to force a gap between the window or door and the car's frame to access the lock. Made of metal, vinyl or plastic, these wedges create a space large enough to insert another tool. A long metal tool called a Slim Jim is often used, though more modern cars are protected against their use and other steel rods are implemented.
