When are Toyger kittens usually evaluated?
By Forinfos - 22/08/2025 - 0 comments
Breeders evaluate Toyger kittens for pet-, breed- or show-quality when they are five to eight weeks old. Kittens evaluated as show-quality represent the highest Toyger breed standards.
Breeders who sell kittens assess their monetary value according to the initial evaluations. They price pet-quality kittens lower than breed- and show-quality kittens. Kittens evaluated as breed-quality typically display faults such as white tail tips, off-color paw pads or a dull coat.
Some breeders don't sell kittens evaluated as breed- or show-quality, but make exceptions for qualified individuals. Breeders typically neuter pet- and show-quality kittens around 12 weeks, before new owners take them home.
