When are graduations usually held?

The time of year when graduations are held varies based on the individual school as well as the state where the school is located. Colleges typically have graduations in both December and May, while high schools usually hold graduation exercises between May and June.

For example, the 2015 fall commencement for Ashford University is scheduled to take place on October 4, 2015, and the next scheduled spring commencement at The University of Utah is scheduled for May 5, 2016. Schools will usually provide graduation information to students and parents several months in advance of the ceremony to allow adequate time for preparation and travel arrangements.
