When is the North Carolina State Fair usually held?

The North Carolina State Fair typically begins on a Thursday in mid-October and continues for 11 days. For example, the 2015 fair is scheduled for October 15 through 25; the 2016 fair is scheduled for October 13 through 23; and the 2017 fair is schedule for October 12 through 22.

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services holds the fair each year at the state fairgrounds in Raleigh. The fair begins at 3 p.m. on the first Thursday, and then opens at 8 a.m. each morning for the rest of its run. The fair closes at midnight on Thursday through Saturday nights and at 11 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday nights.
