The piercer will have sanitized hands and tools and should also sanitize the tragus. To avoid infection, the client must follow all of the aftercare rules, which include keeping the tragus clean, avoiding use of ear buds or Bluetooth, and avoiding chlorine and direct sunlight until the tragus has healed.
