Trim-Maxx tea helps people to lose weight only because one of its primary active ingredients, senna, is a laxative. All weight loss from use of this tea comes from loss of water and, therefore, temporary, according to Weight Loss Pills.
Senna, the laxative in Trim-Maxx tea, appears in the tea's ingredients under the name locust plant. Drinking tea containing senna causes dehydration and, if used for several weeks, can result in colon problems. Dieters are also likely to regain the weight they have lost once they stop ingesting the tea. As Diet Hound points out, there is no way to know how much senna is contained in Trim-Maxx tea because, as a food supplement, the tea is not regulated.
