Do truck drivers still use CB radios?
By Forinfos - 08/02/2026 - 0 comments
Approximately 50 percent of truck drivers today still use a CB radio at least some of the time, as of 2015. Many truckers have adopted the cell phone as their primary means of communication.
Today's truckers enjoy modern entertainment options like the rest of the drivers on the road. They communicate with their families and other truck drivers on the road using cell phones rather than CBs, and spend their time listening to satellite radio. Many truck drivers still own CBs, but not many ever turn them on. They can easily get directions using a GPS which also tells them about road conditions and accidents on the highways.
