How do you turn off the YouTube safety mode?

To turn off safety mode, scroll down to the bottom of the YouTube.com homepage. You can find the option to turn safety ‘on’ or ‘off’ between the ‘country’ and ‘history’ buttons. Click the safety button to reveal the dropdown list. Select off and save.

Safety mode on YouTube.com allows for filtering of content that might not be appropriate, although the filter isn’t always 100% accurate.

Note that the settings apply to the specific browser. To save information in all browsers at a time, log in to Google on all the browsers, and enable history and cookies. Your Google account must be set to over 18.
