Bolivia and Paraguay are the two landlocked countries in South America. Both countries are situated in the central part of the continent. Paraguay is bordered by the countries of Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil, while Bolivia is bordered by Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Peru.
Paraguay is a little smaller than the state of California and comprises a total area of about 157,000 square miles, making it the 60th largest country in the world. Paraguay has a population over 6.7 million people, as of 2014. Bolivia has a total area exceeding 424,000 square miles, making it roughly triple the size of the state of Montana. Bolivia has a population of about 10.6 million people, as of 2014.
