Two physical features in Nevada are the Bonneville Salt Flats near the western edge of the desert range and in the north just east of Salt Lake City, the Wasatch and Uinta mountains. Nevada has a unique landscape.
Nevada has deserts, valleys and mountains. In fact, the state has 2,167 mountain peaks throughout the state. Boundary Peak serves as the highest point within the state.
In addition to Lake Tahoe, the most famous lake in the state, there are a number of other lakes that add to the natural beauty of Nevada. These include Pyramid Lake, Lake Mead, Angel Lake, Overland Lake and Favre Lake. A number of rivers also flow through Nevada, including the Colorado River, Columbia River and Truckee River.
