J.D. Robb writes the "In Death" series, which is a mystery series that follows the main character Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke. There are over 40 books in the series, and the publisher releases two new titles per year.

J.D. Robb is a pseudonym for bestselling author Nora Roberts. After experiencing success as a romance novelist, Roberts desired to reach a different group of readers and began writing the "In Death" series as author J.D. Robb.

In 2001, the publisher revealed to fans that J.D. Robb and Nora Roberts were one in the same. Nora Roberts frequently makes the New York Times Best Seller List under both names simultaneously.
