What type of clothing do Haitians wear?

Haitians typically wear clothing that is loose, patterned and tropical. Their clothing is often lightweight and includes skirts, dresses, shorts and lightweight shirts. Most clothing worn by Haitians can be considered casual wear.

There are exceptions, depending on the event or activity the person is involved in. For example, business attire worn by Haitians tends to be more formal than what is worn in other countries. They don't usually have business casual wear but instead are strict about suits and ties. In some rural areas, it may be less strict. Many Haitians also wear American styles as they have used clothing imported.
