What type of music does Radio Farda play?

Radio Farda occasionally plays Persian music both from Iran and from the Iranian diaspora. Although Radio Farda is mainly a station dedicated to news and current social affairs and is not a designated music station, the station does play songs from a variety of Persian genres between talk segments.

Radio Farda broadcasts from Prague in the Czech Republic and, therefore, can play content that cannot be freely expressed within the Islamic Republic of Iran. While the focus is on news and current affairs, Radio Farda plays Persian classical, pop and folk music on some of its shows. This is especially the case in programs that are dedicated to cultural and art news.
