What type of oil is needed for a 2007 Saturn Ion?

The 2007 Saturn Ion was offered with three different engines and all of them require 5W-30 motor oil, according to AutoZone. Some of the recommended brands are Valvoline, Quaker State, Havoline, Mobil 1 and Pennzoil.

The 2007 Saturn Ion with the 2.0-liter, sequential fuel injection, supercharged 4-cylinder engine requires 6 quarts of oil with a filter change. The Ion with the 2.4-liter, sequential fuel injection, double overhead camshaft 4-cylinder engine requires 5 quarts with a filter change, as does the 2.2-liter, sequential fuel injection, double overhead camshaft 4-cylinder engine.

Once the oil has been changed, AutoZone recommends checking the oil level with the dipstick to see if it needs to be topped off.
