What type of paper is used to print paystubs?

Paystubs with a physical paycheck attached are either printed on security paper or on plain paper. Paystubs from direct deposits are printed on plain copy paper.
Security paper has tamper-resistant features, including watermarks, microscopic text and tamper-evident dyes that react when the document is mishandled, for example, an attempt to erase a marking. These features protect unintended users from making unauthorized copies or modifications to the document.
Paystubs printed on security paper are printed on the same type of paper used for the check. Alternatively, the paystub can be printed on plain paper with a perforated check attached to the top or bottom end of the document.
