"The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost is a type of lyric poem. This poem is not meant to tell a story, but it works to show the emotions and feelings that the poet is experiencing.
This poem has a total of four stanzas which are the sections of the poem. Each of these has five lines and every other line rhymes, except the fifth line in each of the stanzas. The rhyme scheme follows an ABAAB pattern and with the exception of the poem's last line, all of the rhymes are masculine and strict. Each of the lines contain four stressed syllables.
