What type of vaccinations are required for micro pigs?

Micro pigs should be vaccinated against erysipelas and tetanus. Tetanus, which is given yearly, is especially important for pigs that are housed with other species. Gentle and intelligent animals that grew in popularity in the 1980s, micro pigs can live up to 15 years and require a long-term commitment from the owner.
When they are one to five days old, micro pigs should be given iron administered by a veterinarian to prevent them from becoming anemic. Additionally, vaccines such as Bordetella and Pasteurella can also be given once a year after an initial double dose at age 6 to 10 weeks and again at 14 to 16 weeks. Most veterinarians also give a dose of Ivomec or Dectomax as a prevention against worms.
