Some vitamins for high cholesterol include fish oil, coenzyme Q10 and niacin, according to WebMD. Doctors also recommend psyllium and soy supplements.
Fish oil supplements may reduce triglyceride levels up to 30 percent due to their high omega-3 content, notes WebMD. Coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10, may help lower LDL cholesterol levels. Niacin boosts levels of good cholesterol while lowering bad LDL cholesterol and triglycerides but should only be taken under a doctor's order. Psyllium fiber lowers both total cholesterol and triglycerides, particularly in Type 2 diabetics. Soy supplements can also decrease LDL and total levels of cholesterol, according to WebMD.
