Low vision aids include magnifiers, glare control and electronic devices. Magnifiers include hand-held and stand, which may or may not be illuminated; bar, dome and hanging. Most prescriptions are for full or bifocal spectacle magnifiers. Some types of telescopic aids are hand-held, clip-on or mounted on the spectacle.

Glare control includes tinted spectacle lenses that may be used with hats or visors. Tinted lenses are available in various tints and levels of glare-absorption. For individuals who cannot benefit from using the optical vision aids, electronic aids are available. These include devices that display items on a closed-circuit television monitor and text-to-speech converters.
