What are some types of spelling worksheets?

Among the many different types of spelling worksheets are crossword puzzles, word searches and criss-cross puzzles. Each of them use a variety of methods to help students improve their spelling skills.

A traditional spelling worksheet has a list of the assigned spelling words with one or two lines beside each word. This type also lets students practice their handwriting. Puzzle worksheets usually involve students matching each spelling word with a correlating picture. Typically, a space is provided for them to write each word after they find the correct match. Worksheets for younger learners sometimes have each spelling word written in dotted form, allowing them to trace over the letters.
