Ford offers three main types of truck frame, which include unitized body frames and backbone tube frames. Ford uses these chassis frames in range of its models, including the Bronco, Ranger, F-150, Torino and Thunderbird.

Ford is renowned for producing heavy-duty trucks. The manufacturer uses backbone tube frames and unitized body frames to build its trucks. A backbone tube chassis consists of a strong tubular backbone that connects the rear and front suspension attachment areas. The body of the truck is placed on this robust structure.

The unitized chassis has the body and its chassis integrated into one strong structure. The Ford Mustang has a unitized body chassis.
