Measuring cups come in many sizes from as small as 1/16 cup to over a quart large. The size and style of a measuring cup changes depending on if it measures wet or dry ingredients.
Dry measuring cups usually consist of a set of nesting scoops, with each one measuring a fraction of a cup. Some sets can measure as little as 1/16 cup, but most include four scoops representing 1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup and a full cup.
Wet measuring cups are usually clear cups with lines marking different measurements on the side. These may have a capacity as small as one cup or as large as 4 cups or more. They can usually measure the same fractions of a cup as dry sets, but they often mark units in ounces and milliliters as well.
