The United States Navy offers several lists of submarines on its official website. The lists are arranged according to the type of submarine, including attack, ballistic missile and guided submarines in the fleet.
The U.S. Navy has various attack submarines in service, as of 2015, including 41 Los Angeles class subs, 30 of which are equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles. It also has three Seawolf-class subs, also armed. The Navy's Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines provide launch platforms for intercontinental missiles. There are 14 in service. In addition, it has 14 guided missile submarines in service, four of which are retrofitted for land attack platforms.
