Tangled hair can be untangled with the help of a wide tooth comb, conditioner or a hair serum that softens the tangles. Tangles can be removed from dry or wet hair.

Long hair and fine hair tend to develop tangles that can be painful to undo. This is especially true in children's hair. Untangling wet hair requires using conditioner before shampooing so the residue does not remain in the hair. Afterwards, a comb can be used to untangle one section at a time.

A hair shine serum or conditioning oil untangles dry hair. Apply the serum to help soften the tangles. Use a comb and work the tangle from the bottom up to help reduce pain.
