How do you untangle doll hair?

To untangle doll hair, cut the hair ties, comb the doll hair, soak the hair in fabric softener, rinse, and comb the hair. Allow the hair to air dry rather than use a hair drier.

1. Cut the hair ties

   Use a pair of manicure scissors to cut any elastic and ribbons in the hair. This makes them easier to remove especially in severely tangled hair. Be careful not to cut any of the hair.

2. Comb the hair

   Using a wide-toothed comb, gently comb the ends, making your way towards the top. Tease the tangles as you go. Working from the top-down breaks the hair and damages your comb.

3. Soak the hair

   Pour undiluted fabric softener into a container and soak the doll hair for a few hours. Do not use dyed or scented softener if your child has sensitive skin.

4. Rinse the hair

   Rinse the hair thoroughly with water. Be sure to remove all traces of fabric softener. Brush the hair with a wig brush to remove the tangles.

5. Dry hair

   Air-dry the doll's hair. You can speed up the process by placing the doll on a windowsill facing the sun. Do not use a hair dryer, which can melt the fibers of the synthetic hair.
