How do you use a French press coffee maker?

To use a French press, add coffee grounds to the press, and then fill the press with freshly boiled water. Push the plunger down after four minutes, and serve. You need 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds per 6 ounces of water.
- Fill the kettle with water
Fill the kettle with the amount of water you wish to use.
- Boil the water
Place the kettle on the stove top over high heat until the kettle whistles.
- Remove the kettle from the heat
Remove the kettle from the heat, and turn off the burner.
- Grind the coffee
Fill the coffee grinder with whole beans, and then grind the beans at a coarse setting.
- Add the coffee to the press
Add the amount of coffee you need to the press. Use 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds for every 6 ounces of water
- Fill the press
Add a small amount of hot water to the beaker of the press to preheat it, and then fill the press 2 inches from the top with the water from the kettle.
- Set the timer
Set the timer to four minutes.
- Stir the coffee
Stir the coffee after one minute.
- Add the plunger
Wait for the timer to sound. Add the plunger to the press, and push down.
- Serve or transfer the coffee
Serve immediately, or pour the coffee into a carafe.
