How do you use TiVo with a cable subscription?

In 2014, TiVo released the Roamio OTA, which is a unit that specifically targets the consumers without cable subscriptions, but requires a monthly service to use. Customers who want to have the same capabilities as TiVo can choose to pay either a one-time fee of $500 or a $15 monthly fee to TiVo, as of 2015.

The Roamio OTA is made to specifically work with a digital antenna. The box itself is also priced reasonably and offers extra services, such as online streaming applications through Netflix or Hulu. Consumers can also choose to upgrade their TiVo by buying additional streaming equipment boxes.
