Fabric tape is a heat-activated product that makes it easy to tailor clothing using only an iron. To use the tape to tailor clothing, place the tape at the desired hem length, and fold the fabric over the tape. Press the fabric onto the tape with the iron.

Fabric tape is also useful in patching small holes or tears in clothing or reinforcing an area that receives a lot of strain. Button holes and shirttails both benefit from reinforcement with fabric tape.

Some of the more temporary uses for fabric tape include taping belts and scarves in place so they don't slide during wear. It is also useful to tape a bra strap to the inside of a dress so the strap doesn't slide and show.
