What are some uses for shiplap wood?
By Forinfos - 06/05/2025 - 0 comments
Builders commonly use shiplap wood for outdoor structures such as barns and sheds because of its low cost and ability to seal out the elements. Some interior decorators use shiplap wood as indoor wall paneling.
Shiplap wood has long grooves on either side that overlap with other pieces to create tight joints between the boards. Builders can use shiplap wood horizontally or vertically in place of two-by-fours.
Some interior designers use shiplap indoors to create a rustic or informal feeling to spaces, or to create lightly textured walls in kitchens, bathrooms and dining spaces. For a more polished look, designers apply moulding to cover uneven joints and paint the boards.
