A HIAB license is an official license to operate a truck-mounted loader crane in the United Kingdom. The training courses required to obtain the license are offered by many construction companies across the country.

Training for a HIAB license is available via both long and short courses, depending on the trainee and their reasons for participating in training. For those who wish to use HIAB trucks for professional work, the longer courses are almost always necessary. Loader cranes (especially those mounted to a truck) can be extremely dangerous if not used properly, so their operators should always have appropriate training.
