What are some symptoms of a worn clutch?
By Forinfos - 29/05/2026 - 0 comments
Some symptoms of a worn clutch include slippage, a spongy feel to the clutch and trouble changing gears smoothly. Sometimes, a worn clutch makes screeching or grinding noises.
Most newer vehicles have self-adjusting clutches, so a mechanic can not manually adjust them. As such, most of these symptoms apply only to older cars. If a driver hears, feels or sees any of the mentioned symptoms, he should go to a mechanic to fix the problem. Sometimes, it isn't the actual clutch that causes problems, but the cylinder or tubing. Clutches are built to last a long time, but inefficient driving can shorten their lives.
