Verizon's call blocking feature is available for a $5 monthly fee as part of its FamilyBase plan, as detailed on the Verizon Wireless website. The service allows users to block up to 20 contacts on a permanent basis.
With FamilyBase, calls and messages can be prevented from both domestic and international numbers. In addition to blocking specific numbers, customers subscribing to this $5 add-on can also block specific email addresses and instant messenger screen names, as well as all private, unavailable and restricted numbers. The service can also limit calls to certain times of day and prevent outgoing calls to 411 Directory Assistance.
