Does vinegar lower cholesterol levels?

Taking 15 milliliters of apple cider vinegar a day helps reduce low-density level blood cholesterol, according to Healthline. Scientists first conducted this study on rats, but Japanese condiment manufacturer Mizkan conducted the study on humans. This reduction in cholesterol helps fight heart disease and hypertension.
While many claim that apple cider vinegar has many other health benefits, doctors say that the acid levels in it place too much strain on the kidneys, states WebMD. Diabetes patients should be careful before taking apple cider vinegar because it may increase the effects of gastroparesis, which is a common problem for diabetics that slows stomach emptying.
