The next presidential election date for legal U.S. residents is Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016. The date always falls on the Tuesday after the first Monday of November every four years. The last election was held on Nov. 6, 2012.
Since president Barack Obama will have served the maximum two terms, the election will feature both a new Republican and Democratic candidate. The next midterm election date is set for Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014. During this and every midterm election year, each of the 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and one-third of the 100 seats of the U.S. Senate are up for grabs.
