What do warts look like?

Common warts are tan, pink or white and are fairly small in size, according to Mayo Clinic. They also frequently feature black pinpoints, which come from small blood vessels that have clotted inside the wart.

On most of the body, warts protrude from the skin to some degree, reports WebMD. However, plantar warts, which grow on the bottom of the foot, are often flush with the foot because of the pressure applied to them when the patient walks. When plantar warts grow together, they resemble a small mosaic on the bottom of the foot. Palmer warts, which appear most frequently on the hand, protrude from the skin.
