To wash a mop head, repeatedly rinse the mop head in a white vinegar and hot water solution, then soak the mop head in lemon juice. Allow it to dry, preferably outdoors.
- Create a solution of hot water and vinegar
Fill your mop bucket with a cup of white vinegar and hot water. If you do not own a mop bucket, use any bucket of a similar size.
- Repeatedly rinse the mop head until the solution is clear
Rinse the mop head in the white vinegar and hot water solution thoroughly, wringing out the mop head when necessary. Repeat until the entire solution is used. If the mop head is still dirty, create another white vinegar and hot water solution to repeat the process.
- Rinse the mop head in plain hot water
Using plain hot water, quickly rinse the mop head.
- Soak the mop head in lemon juice
Soak the mop head in undiluted lemon juice. Do not rinse off the lemon juice after application.
- Set the mop head aside to dry
Allow the mop head to dry completely before use. Ideally, place it outside to dry in the sun, which further disinfects the mop fibers. Make sure the mop is completely dry before using it again.
