What is water pressure?

Water pressure refers to the force that allows water to go through pipes and reach people's homes. Some factors that affect water pressure are the height of the water reservoir, the elevation of a property and the water usage of consumers.
When the water pressure is low, water flows slowly. This is the reason why sometimes water coming out of the tap is reduced to a trickle. When water pressure is too high, problems also arise. Plumbing fixtures can be damaged, and flooding may result. In such cases, it is important to contact the water company to immediately fix whatever is causing the irregular water flow.
