What are some ways to remove stains from a mattress?

Hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, baking soda and ammonia are all agents that remove stains from mattresses. Removing certain types of stains, such as urine stains, can be extremely difficult, and these cleaning methods may not fully remove them from the mattress.

Apply hydrogen peroxide either by itself or combined with baking soda and dish soap directly to a mattress stain in small quantities, allow it to sit for 30 minutes and then vacuum it dry. This mixture is effective at removing both blood and urine stains. Remove other stains by applying ammonia to the stain in very small amounts in a well-ventilated area. Allow the ammonia to dry and air out before vacuuming the stained area.
