The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were written between 65 and 95 A.D. The Gospels give similar accounts of the life of Jesus and his teachings while he was on Earth. It is believed that the Gospel of Mark was written first.
Although there are many theories concerning who wrote the Gospels, there is no definitive proof of the author of each. Scholars do agree that they were most likely written by eyewitnesses.
The Gospel of John is similar to the others, but there are some differences. The Gospel of Matthew is the longest book in the Bible.
