What were the results of the November 2014 ballot?

The 2014 midterm elections shifted the power of the House to the Republicans, who held a majority of the seats. Republicans at the end of the election held 247 seats to the democrats 188. Republicans carried races in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming and Idaho, and also held Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky at the end of the election.

Democratic states include Oregon, New Mexico, Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan. Others were Virginia, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Delaware. Key races in the election included races in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado and Iowa, all of which were won by Republicans.
