What do white grubs eat?

White grubs eat the roots of plants that are located near the soil line. This can cause large dead patches of grass on lawns, which makes grubs a major issue for turf.
White grubs are often seen as the most destructive of all pests in home landscapes. These pests are the larvae of the scarab beetle. When the grubs eat the roots of the plants, the plants are unable to get needed nutrients, which can cause grass to thin out and eventually die. Along with the grubs, the adult beetles will feed on the leaves and flowers of herbaceous and woody plants, so pest management is a must to prevent total destruction.
