Who wrote the "Philippians"?

The Apostle Paul, with the help of his protégée Timothy, wrote the Book of Philippians. Paul wrote the book in the year 61 A.D. as a letter directed to Christian residents in the Greek city of Philippi.

Paul wrote Philippians while serving time in prison in nearby Rome. Much of his correspondence contained thanks to the Christian Philippians for continuing to share the gospel, as well as instructions on how to be humble and maintain Christian unity. He also wrote warnings to the people concerning false teachers who might try to convince the Philippians to follow Old Testament law through actions such as circumcision.
