Who wrote the story 'The Tell-Tale Heart'

The short story "The Tell-Tale Heart" was written by Edgar Allen Poe. It was first published in the Boston magazine "The Pioneer" in January of 1843.

"The Tell-Tale Heart" is narrated by the caretaker of an old man, who becomes obsessed with the old man's eye. The narrator murders the man and hides the body under the floor. He eventually confesses to the police who arrive to investigate after hearing what he believes to be the beating of the heart under the floor.

"The Tell-Tale Heart" is considered one of Poe's best-known stories as well as a classic work of Gothic fiction. It has been adapted several times, including the 2009 film "Tell Tale."
