Where is Wyoming located?

Wyoming is located in the Rocky Mountain region of the western United States. Wyoming is bordered by Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah and Idaho.

Wyoming is one of only three states to be bounded entirely by straight lines. The area of the state is 97,914 square miles, making it the ninth largest state. From north to south the state is 276 miles across, and from east to west the state spans 375 miles. The Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains come to a junction in Wyoming. The state is an immense plateau split up by numerous mountain ranges. With a mean elevation of 6,700 feet, Wyoming has a fairly cool climate and temperatures rarely exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
